At age 46 I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s Disease. There is no cure yet, but maybe tomorrow… I’ve always enjoyed target shooting and Parkinson’s is no reason to quit. So with the blessing of my neurology team, my family, and fortunately the nearest range to me is good with it too, I will continue to compete and enjoy shooting as long as everyone agrees I can maintain gun safety.

What is really strange but true, when I step into the range booth, all the pain fades away, the muscle spasms stop and I can relax. That relief from the Parkinson’s has lasted for as little as ten minutes after I leave the range to as long as almost 10 hours later. I will take any of that!
