About Me

About

I grew up in a household where my Dad taught Hunter Safety Education and I would go with him, help him set up and sit in on his classes.  He was a natural teacher, and if any of his students failed (which was not that often), he would work with them for free to help them pass their second attempt.  I took Hunter Safety when I was in my early teens.  I drifted away from firearms (Mom said it was a waste of ammo) and when my Dad passed away I took my PAL and RPAL in Canada and had my Hunter Safety Course reinstated in honor of my Dad.  (I can remember driving home on the chilly Canadian November night after passing my firearm courses having challenged the pistol course, never having handled a pistol – what can I say, I’m book smart and I can usually figure out things when given a chance, and when I called my Mom I was over the moon happy I had aced the rifle/shotgun portion and got 98% on the pistol exam.  I asked Mom if my Dad would be proud of me for doing so well?  Her answer was no.  I shook off her negativity and never looked back!

After I got my gun licenses in Canada I joined the local range in Prescott, Ontario, bought a safe and proceeded to fill it.  I took the Black Badge in Canada so I could compete in IPSC.  I’m accurate, but not nearly as fast as I’d like to be.

I went to Front Sight, took my Hunter Safety Education Course in NY, completed the NRA home defense course, got my conceal carry in NY, and took my NROI Range Officer Course.  Since moving to South Carolina I’ve taken more safety courses and got my conceal carry permit.

When I moved to the US – my love of firearms met my love of photography.  I started taking pictures at events and giving the pictures away.  I loved seeing my Facebook feed with firearm photo’s and pictures of friends/acquaintances on the range having fun.  I really believe we need to normalize our 2A rights and our firearm culture.  I’ve done photography for Area 6 (2 years), the Carolina Classic (1 year), the Florida Open (2 years), PCC Nationals (not the official photographer), Eastern Lakes Sectional (1 year) and various other smaller local competitions.

You can often find me on the local ranges (Belton, Skip J, Spartanburg, Cherokee in Gainesville, Greenville and Coastal in Southern GA).  You meet the nicest people on the range.  I have been so very fortunate to take pictures and help share our love of firearms!
