However, it’s important to note that being a moderator requires a significant commitment of time and effort and a willingness to engage with users in a fair and impartial manner. How to Become an Arms Directory Moderator

To become an Arms Directory Moderator, start by familiarizing yourself with the Moderator Code of Conduct and Terms of Service. Next, contact a current moderator and express your interest in joining the team. All community moderators are volunteers, and the current moderation team elects new moderators.

The Arms Directory Site Moderator Tiers

We organize and operate under a tiered moderation system to ensure that we maintain a quality and ordered team.

Tier 0: Arms Directory Staff Moderator
• Writes and modifies site moderation policies
• Listens and acts on feedback from senior site moderator(s)
• Connects Arms Directory to site moderator(s)
• Moderates all group communities and site pages
• Makes sure that there are enough total moderators to manage our community

Tier 1: Senior Site Moderator
• Post moderation issues to the private moderation group
• Suggests site improvements to staff site moderator(s)
• Reports to Arms Directory staff moderator
• Makes sure that there are enough Tier 2 and 3 moderators to manage our community
• Manage inactive and unmoderated group communities and submit them for deactivation where necessary

Tier 2: Site Moderator
• Post moderation issues to the private moderation group
• Suggests site improvements to senior site moderator(s)
• Reports to the senior site moderator(s)
• Manage inactive and unmoderated group communities and submit them for deactivation where necessary

Tier 3: Junior Site Moderator
• Post moderation issues to the private moderation group
• Suggests site improvements to site moderator(s)
• Reports to the site moderator(s)
• Manage inactive and unmoderated group communities and submit them for deactivation where necessary

Tier 4: Group Organizer/Co-Organizer
• Establish a clear purpose and rules for the group community
• Moderate group’s community
• Kick & Ban members when necessary
• Remove members when necessary
• Elect and assign new group co-organizers
• Elect and assign new group moderators
• Demote the organizer, co-organizers, and moderators
• Delete the group
• Add or delete group forums
• Manage the abilities of moderators
• Make the group public or private
• Change group avatar and profile photos
• Manage group members
• Manage group settings

Tier 5: Group Moderator
• Moderate group’s community
• Kick & Ban members when necessary
• Remove members when necessary
• Suggest new moderators to the organizer and co-organizer(s)
• Authority to edit or delete forum discussions
• Authority to edit or delete activity feed posts
• Reports to the group’s organizer and co-organizer(s)

Tier 6: All Site Members
• Adhere to Arms Directory site policies when adding or interacting with site content
• Report content that you believe violates site policies or that you deem inappropriate

Moderator Tier Requirements

Tier 1: Senior Site Moderator
• Active member for at least 1 year

Tier 2: Site Moderator
• Active member for at least 6 months

Tier 3: Junior Site Moderator
• Active member for at least 3 months

Tier 4: Group Organizer/Co-Organizer
• Be an active group leader and community participant

Tier 5: Group Moderator
• Be an active group leader and community participant

Ways to Become a Moderator

Tier 0: Arms Directory Staff Moderator
• To apply, send your resume to [email protected] with a description of why you would like to become a staff moderator

Tier 1: Senior Site Moderator
• Be invited and elected by Arms Directory staff moderator(s)

Tier 2: Site Moderator
• Be invited and elected by Tier 1, senior site moderator(s)

Tier 3: Junior Site Moderator
• Be invited and elected by Tier 2, site moderator(s)

Tier 4: Group Organizer/Co-Organizer
• Start a Group Community or be invited by an organizer
• If you have a unique idea, you may start a community on Arms Directory by starting a new group. You will then automatically become the group organizer and the first moderator of the community.

Tier 5: Group Moderator
• Be elected by a group moderator, organizer, or co-organizer
